What is the flag format?
The flag format for example is CI{FlagHere}. Please note that there are variations in the flags.
What is the difference between CyberStrike (CS) and CyberStrike 365 (CS365)?
CS365 is a 24/7 (unless noted of system maintenance) CTF environment open to anyone to register and practice their Cyber skills. CS is the competition environment that is only open during active competitions.
What kind of challenges should I/We expect?
Please head over to our GitHub site to familiarize yourself with the categories as they are the primary topics of our challenges. Expect closed "systems" where you will need to access.
Will there be "live challenges"?
There will always be "live challenges" however we have scaled down the number of challenges for "live challenges".
Will there be provided equipment?
No. You must bring all necessary equipment (e.g. computers/laptops, chargers, accessories, power cables, etc...). We will not provide equipment or VMs (unless otherwise stated).
What if I have a underpowered laptop/chromebook?
Most challenges don't require any special laptop and a Chromebook will suffice. However, you should have someone with either a Windows/Mac/Linux laptop for the other challenges. We may provide VMs if they are available to use. You are free to run any Virtualization software loaded with any OS you prefer.
Will there be food at the competition?
Please refer to the competition details for more information. Or you may inquire with your coach/mentor for additional details.
During registration, it asks to verify my email.
At this time, we have turned off verification of emails to allow you to quickly start in the environment. If you are experiencing any issues, please open a ticket at #cyberstrike365-tickets or flag down a CTF Staff member.
Some challenges are ambiguous and there could be multiple answers.
Please exercise best judgement of what the flag could potentially be. We have noted of special characters such as Hawaiian alphabet and you may not be able to produce them. Challenges will have multiple variants of the flag to allow for plain English or Hawaiian words.
What are some tools that I can check out and practice?
Please refer to our GitHub site for tools as we regularly update the list with related tools to use in our competition.
What are "physical" challenges?
Physical challenges requires you to interact with CTF staff or the outside environment to obtain flags. These could be puzzles, finding items or clues, performing tasks and etc.
